Ascend Physical Therapy

Our mission is to help you find the solutions to your injuries and achieve your sports performance goals

Why Ascend Physical Therapy?

Ascend Physical Therapy opened in the summer of 2022 with the one goal in mind: to provide a first-class physical therapy service using the best available techniques in rehabilitation and sports performance. The service is tailored towards helping our patients achieve their goals, using the most efficient path possible. Each person we work with receives 1-on-1 care and a customized plan to get them back to doing what they love.

What to expect when working with us

Ascend Physical Therapy has 1-on-1 sessions with Pete. The sessions last 60-minutes and are often a combination of exercise and manual therapy. There will be “homework” after all sessions that you will be asked to complete between sessions to help you continue to make progress.

Managing the process of restoring your health and returning to the physical activities you love can fit into 3 phases:

  • Phase 1: Become pain free

  • Phase 2: Fix the cause of your pain

  • Phase 3: Performance improvement and ongoing maintenance

The goal at Ascend is to work with you throughout this process until you return to doing what your injury is holding you back from, as well as improving your physical performance in the sports and activities you participate in.

Meet Our Team

Pete Cicinelli is a physical therapist with advanced training in dry needling, spine/joint manipulation, and late-stage rehabilitation. He uses his skillset to help navigate injured athletes through their rehabilitation from the day they become injured until they return back to fully competing in their sport. His expertise also includes helping uninjured athletes manage the stresses of heavy workloads during their training in both the off-season and in-season of their sport.

He worked full-time as a physical therapist with the Atlanta Braves from 2016 to 2021, serving as their Major League Head Physical Therapist during the 2021 World Series Championship season. During this time, he developed a strong skillset for managing injuries in high level baseball players. His main role with the team was to lead the player rehabilitation programs until they were cleared to return to game action.

He earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University, along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from University of Toledo.
